Edamena II, a 45-foot 5-inch fast (25 knots) motor pleasure boat, was built in 1916 by George Lawley of Neponset, Massachusetts. The Navy purchased her from E.P. Charlton of Fall River, Mass., in May 1917 and placed her in commission as USS Edamena II (SP-14). For the rest of World War I the boat was employed on patrol and dispatch duties in the waters of the Second Naval District (southern New England). She was sold back to her former owner in mid-February 1919.
This page features the only view we have concerning the motor boat Edamena II, which served as USS Edamena II (SP-14) in 1917-1919.
