Elf (American Motor Boat, 1917).
Served as USS Elf (SP-81) in 1917-1919

Elf, a 51-foot motor pleasure boat, was built in 1917 by Stanley Vansant. She was leased to the U.S. Navy in May 1917, soon after the United States entered World War I, and was placed in commission as USS Elf (SP-81). During the remainder of the conflict the craft served in the waters of the Fourth and Seventh Naval Districts. She was returned to her owner, Louis H. Eisenlohr of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in January 1919.

This page features the only views we have concerning the motor boat Elf, which served as USS Elf (SP-81) in 1917-1919.
