Elithro II (American Motor Boat, 1916).
Served as USS Elithro II (SP-15) in 1917-1918

Elithro II, a 55-foot motor pleasure boat, was built in 1916 by the Luders Marine Construction Company of Stamford, Connecticut. Leased to the U.S. Navy for World War I service in November 1917, she was placed in commission as USS Elithro II (SP-15) in late December of that year. Following plane guard duty at Rockaway Beach, Long Island, New York, she was returned to her owner, John Kelly Robinson of Rye, New York in December 1918.

Elithro II

Underway, circa 1916-1917.
Photographed by Publisher's Photo Service, Stamford, Connecticut.
This pleasure craft served as USS Elithro II (SP-15) in 1917-1918.
Note that she has two small funnels abreast, with her SP number on the one nearest the camera.

Elithro II
(American Motor Boat, 1916)

Underway, circa 1916-1917.
Built by the Luders Marine Construction Company of Stamford, Connecticut, and owned by John Kelly Robinson of Rye, New York, this pleasure boat was taken over by the Navy on 10 November 1917 and placed in commission on 26 December 1917 as USS Elithro II (SP-15). She was returned to her owner on 18 December 1918.
