Elliott (American Harbor Tug, 1875).
Formerly named Wauwatosa.
Had U.S. Navy service in 1919 as Elliott (ID # 2898)

Elliott, a 45 gross ton wooden-hulled harbor tug, was built at Newburg, New York, in 1875 and rebuilt in 1899. She was previously, and perhaps originally, named Wauwatosa. At the end of May 1918, when inspected by the Third Naval District (New York City area) for possible U.S. Navy service, she was owned by the Pareis Towing Line of New York City. Reportedly delivered to the Navy at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in late January 1919 and placed in commission at that time as Elliott (ID # 2898), she was presumably returned to her owner, or otherwise disposed of, later in that year.

This page features the only view we have concerning the harbor tug Elliott (ex-Wauwatosa) of 1875, which had U.S. Navy service as Elliott (ID # 2898) in 1919.
