George H. Johnson (American Powered Lighter)

George H. Johnson, a 110-foot steam lighter, was built by Abbot at Milford, Delaware, prior to World War I. Owned by the T. Johnson Company of New York City, in 1916 or early 1917 she was inspected by the Navy for possible World War I acquisition as a section patrol vessel. Though assigned the registry number SP-379, she did not enter Naval service.

This page features the only views we have concerning the lighter George H. Johnson.
