Itty E (Motor Boat, 1916);
Later USS Itty E (SP-952), 1917-1920

Itty E, a 25-foot open motor boat, was built at South Boston, Massachusetts, in 1916 for use as a pleasure craft. Chartered by the Navy for World War I service, she was commissioned in July 1917 as USS Itty E (SP-952). After briefly operating in the Boston area as an aviation rescue boat, she was transferred to Norfolk, Virginia, in October 1917. Itty E suffered engine damage in a fire in July 1918 and was determined to be a "constructive loss". She was scrapped at the Washington Navy Yard, D.C., in 1920.

This page features our only views of the motor boat Itty E, later USS Itty E (SP-952).
