Mustang (American Motor Boat, 1911).
Served as USS Mustang (SP-36) in 1917-1919

Mustang, a 56-foot motor pleasure boat, was built at Saint Joseph, Michigan, in 1911. She was purchased by the Navy in July 1917 and placed in commission early in October of that year as USS Mustang (SP-36). Based at Whitestone, Long Island, the craft was employed on patrol duties in western Long Island Sound during the rest of World War I. Decommissioned at some point following the November 1918 Armistice, Mustang was stricken from the list of Naval vessels in June 1919 and sold in July.

This page features the only views we have concerning the motor boat Mustang, which served as USS Mustang (SP-36) in 1917-1919.
