Sadie Ross (American Harbor Tug, 1904).
Served as USS Sadie Ross (SP-736) in 1917-1920

Sadie Ross, a 60.5 foot wooden steam harbor tug, was built at East Boston, Massachusetts, in 1904. She was acquired by the Navy in early June 1917 and placed in service as USS Sadie Ross (SP-736) soon afterwards. During the rest of World War I she was employed in the waters of northeastern New England. USS Sadie Ross was sold in August 1920.

Sadie Ross
(American Harbor Tug, 1904)

Photographed prior to her World War I Naval Service.
Acquired by the Navy on 2 June 1917, this tug was commissioned on 7 June 1917 as USS Sadie Ross (SP-736). She was sold on 6 August 1920.

The original print is in National Archives' Record Group 19-LCM.

Note: The Ships' Histories Branch of the Naval Historical Center holds another photograph of Sadie Ross, taken prior to her Naval service. It was taken in harbor, from off her starboard side, and shows her underway at low speed.
