Tide, a 303 gross ton steam-powered fishing trawler, was built at Manitowoc, Wisconsin, in 1916. She was later examined for possible Navy use as a minesweeper and assigned the registry number SP-953 . Though ordered taken over in mid-June 1918, the vessel was not actually acquired by the Navy.
