West Arrow (American Freighter, 1918)

West Arrow, a 5742.6 gross ton freighter, was built at Seattle, Washington, in 1918 as part of the Nation's World War I industrial effort. She was inspected for possible Navy use, and assigned the registry ID # 2585, but was not taken over and remained in civilian hands.

S.S. West Arrow
(American Freighter, 1918)

Underway at the time her construction was completed by the Skinner & Eddy Corporation, Seattle, Washington, in mid-1918.
Originally named J.C. Eddy, this ship was launched on 23 May 1918. She was considered for acquisition by the Navy for World War I service, and assigned the registry ID # 2585, but was not taken over.

The original print is in National Archives' Record Group 19-LCM.
