Wanderlust, a 83-foot motor boat, was built at Neponset, Massachusetts in 1907 as the pleasure craft Faalua. She was renamed in 1913, after being purchased by a new owner. The Navy acquired her for World War I service in August 1917. Placed in commission as USS Wanderlust (SP-923), she spent the rest of the war patrolling the coastal waters of South Carolina, Georgia and northern Florida. The boat was returned to her owner in February 1919 and remained in use as a pleasure craft until about 1929-1931.
This page features the only views we have of the motor boat Wanderlust and of USS Wanderlust (SP-923).
