Wiwoka (American Motor Boat, 1912).
Previously named Idylease III.
Served as USS Wiwoka (SP-250) in 1917-1919

Wiwoka, a 62-foot motor pleasure boat, was built in 1912 by Murray and Tregurtha at Boston, Massachusetts. Formerly named Idylease III, she was taken over by the Navy in July 1917 and placed in commission in September of that year as USS Wiwoka (SP-250). During the rest of World War I she performed on section patrol duties in the vicinity of New York City. The craft was returned to her owner in mid-January 1919.

This page features our only view of the motor boat Wiwoka, which served as USS Wiwoka (SP-250) in 1917-1919.

Photographed by Edwin Levick, New York City, prior to her World War I Naval service.
Formerly named Idylease III, this pleasure craft was acquired by the Navy on 25 July 1917 and placed in commission on 11 September of that year as USS Wiwoka (SP-250). She was returned to her owner on 17 January 1919.
