Wiwoka, a 62-foot motor pleasure boat, was built in 1912 by Murray and Tregurtha at Boston, Massachusetts. Formerly named Idylease III, she was taken over by the Navy in July 1917 and placed in commission in September of that year as USS Wiwoka (SP-250). During the rest of World War I she performed on section patrol duties in the vicinity of New York City. The craft was returned to her owner in mid-January 1919.
This page features our only view of the motor boat Wiwoka, which served as USS Wiwoka (SP-250) in 1917-1919.
