Tug Bernard (ID # 2174), 1917-1919.
Originally the Civilian harbor tug Bernard (1912)

Bernard, a 74 gross ton harbor tug built in 1912 at Staten Island, New York, was chartered by the Navy in April 1917. Perhaps a year later she was assigned the registry ID # 2174. During at least some of her time under Navy charter, the tug was employed in the Delaware River region as a net vessel. Bernard was returned to her owner in early February 1919.

This page features our only view of the tug Barnard (ID # 2174).
