USS Crest (SP-339), 1917-1919

USS Crest, a 244-ton patrol vessel, was built in 1911 at Quincy, Massachusetts, as the civilian fishing trawler of the same name. She was acquired by the Navy and commissioned for World War I service in May 1917. From then until a few months after end of the conflict, Crest operated in northern New England waters, performing minesweeping, patrol and escort missions. She was decommissioned in late January 1919 and returned to her owners in April.

This page features the only views we have concerning USS Crest (SP-339).
