USS Druid (SP-321), 1917-1919.
Previously the civilian yacht Druid (1902)

USS Druid, a 539 gross ton patrol vessel, was built in 1902 by the Burlee Dry Dock Company of Staten Island, New York, as a civilian steam yacht. In June 1917 the Navy purchased her from W.W. Dwyer of New York City and began outfitting her for World War I "distant service". Commissioned in September 1917, she spent the rest of the war performing patrol, escort and towing duties in the western Mediterranean and the nearby Atlantic area. Druid returned to the U.S. following the November 1918 Armistice and was decommissioned early in May 1919. She was sold in September of that year.

This page features all the views we have concerning USS Druid (SP-321) and the civilian yacht Druid.
