USS Dodger II, a 76' 2" section patrol craft, was built in 1913 by the Gas Engine and Power Company of Morris Heights, New York, as a civilian pleasure boat. She was acquired by the Navy in May 1917 from Harold I. Pratt, of New York City. The boat was placed in commission in early July of that year and spent the rest of the World War I, and the first months of peace, on patrol in the New York Harbor area. Dodger II was stricken from the list of Naval vessels in March 1919 and sold at the end of April 1919.
This page features the only views we have concerning USS Dodger II (SP-46) and the civilian motor boat Dodger II of 1913.
