USS Fresno (CL-121, later CLAA-121), 1946-1966

USS Fresno, last of the three 6,000-ton Juneau class light cruisers, was built at Kearny, New Jersey, and placed in commission in late November 1946. She cruised to South America in January-May 1947 and deployed to European waters between August and November of that year. The ship had a second tour in northern Europe in March-June 1948 and spent the rest of her active career in the western Atlantic region. USS Fresno was decommissioned in May 1949 to become part of the Atlantic Reserve Fleet. Following a decade and a half in "mothballs", she was stricken from the list of Naval vessels in April 1965 and sold for scrapping in June 1966.

This page features all the views we have related to USS Fresno (CL-121, later CLAA-121).
