USS Huntington (CL-107), 1946-1962

USS Huntington, a 10,000-ton Fargo class light cruiser built at Camden, New Jersey, was commissioned in February 1946. She worked up in the Caribbean and, in July 1946 deployed for the first of three tours of duty in the Mediterranean Sea. Returning to the U.S. the following February, Huntington made her second "MedCruise" in May-September 1947. The cruiser's third such deployment began in June 1948. She left the Mediterranean via the Suez Canal in September and, during the next two months, visited East African ports, Capetown, Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil and Trinidad. USS Huntington was decommissioned in mid-June 1949 and laid up in reserve at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was stricken from the Navy list in September 1961 and sold for scrapping April 1962.
