USS Josephine (SP-913), 1917-1918.
Renamed SP-913 in 1918.
Originally the civilian motor boat Josephine (1916)

USS Josephine, a 60-foot motor boat, was built at Morris Heights, New York, in 1916 as a pleasure craft. The Navy obtained her in August 1917 for use as a patrol boat, placing her in commission in the following month. Renamed SP-913 in April 1918, she was employed in the New York area until July 1918, when it was determined that she was unsuited for further service. SP-913 was returned to her owner in December 1918.

This page features the only views we have concerning USS Josephine (SP-913), later USS SP-913, and the motor boat Josephine of 1916.
