    "Talos" guided missiles on the ship's missile launcher, November 1960.
    Note the insignia on the launcher, depicting a missile hitting an airplane, SPG-49 missile guidance radars pointed in the same direction as the launcher, and the large diamond-shaped antenna for the ship's SPS-2 radar.

    Launches a "Talos" guided missile.
    The original photograph bears the rubber-stamped date 1 November 1960, but was accompanied by a press release describing missile firings in February 1961 and identifying the photographer as Seaman Virgil Sawyer.
