USS LCI(L)-815 (1944-1948)

USS LCI(L)-815, a 387-ton landing craft, infantry, built at Barber, New Jersey, was commissioned in September 1944. She was soon sent to the Pacific and took part in the Okinawa campaign during April-June 1945. In September-December of that year, following Japan's surrender, LCI(L)-815 was employed on minesweeping operations in southern Japanese waters and on other occupation duties. She then returned to the U.S., was decommissioned and, in the fall of 1946, placed in disposal status. USS LCI(L)-815 was sold in February 1948.

This page features the only view we have concerning USS LCI(L)-815.
