USS LST-646, a 2366-ton LST-511 class tank landing ship, was built at Seneca, Illinois. Commissioned in October 1944, she participated in the Iwo Jima operation during February and March 1945. After the War's end, she supported occupation activities in Asia until December 1945. LST-646 decommissioned in March 1946 and was sold for scrapping in May 1948.
