USS LST-759, 1944-1959.
Renamed USS Eddy County (LST-759) in 1955.

USS LST-759, a 3776-ton (full load displacement) LST-511 class tank landing ship, was built at Ambridge, Pennsylvania. Commissioned in late August 1944, she served in the Pacific for the rest of World War II and, in the spring of 1945, participated in the Okinawa invasion. LST-759 was decommissioned in March 1946. While laid up in the Columbia River Group of the Pacific Reserve Fleet, she was renamed Eddy County (LST-759) at the beginning of July 1955, but had no active service under that name. She was stricken from the list of Navy ships in October 1958 and turned over to Commander Submarine Flotilla One in May 1959 for use as a target.

This page features the only view we have concerning USS LST-759, which was later renamed USS Eddy County (LST-759)
