USS Pomander (SP-702), 1917-1918.
Originally the civilian motor boat Pomander (1916)

USS Pomander, a 43-foot section patrol boat, was built in 1916 by George Lawley of Neponset, Massachusetts, as the civilian pleasure craft of the same name. The Navy acquired her under charter from Bertram B. Conrad of Wareham, Massachusetts, in late May 1917 and soon placed her in commission. Employed in southern New England waters for patrol duty, she proved to be unsuitable for Naval use and, in early July 1918, was returned to her owners.

This page features the only views we have concerning USS Pomander (SP-702), which was oiginally the civilian motor boat Pomander.
