As for most U.S. Navy ships, the Bureau of Ships (created in 1940 by merging the Bureau of Construction and Repair and the Bureau of Engineering) maintained a Booklet of General Plans for USS Plunger. Periodically updated to reflect ships, current configuration, these booklets featured tabulated data as well as exterior and interior plans.
These drawings were intended to show general arrangement, and are not necessarily precise in terms of scaled dimensions. Therefore, for model-building and other purposes requiring exact detail, Booklets of General Plans should be used with caution.
This page features photographs of a Booklet of General Plans for USS Plunger (SS-179), updated to 8 December 1943.
