USS Riette, a 60-foot section patrol boat, was built in 1916 at Morris Heights, New York, as a civilian pleasure craft. She was acquired by the Navy in May 1917 and placed in commission in early August. During World War I, and for some months after the Armistice, she served in Long Island Sound and elsewhere in the New York area. Decommissioned in August 1919, Riette was sold in October 1919. Her subsequent career in civilian yachting circles lasted until about 1958.
This page features all the views we have of USS Riette, and of her as a civilian pleasure craft.
