USS SC-1022, a 95-ton 110-foot submarine chaser, was built at Stamford, Connecticut, and was commissioned in June 1943. SC-1022 was transferred to the Coast Guard in October 1945 and served as USCGC Air Piper (WAVR-452) until sold in September 1947.
