Shada, a 96-foot motor boat, was built in 1908 at Neponset, Massachusetts, for use as a pleasure craft. She was loaned to the Navy in April 1917 and commissioned a month later as USS Shada (SP-580). Serving as a patrol craft, she operated along the New England coast from Boston to Maine during the First World War. Decommissioned in early December 1918, less than a month after the Armistice, Shada was returned to her owner in April 1919.
This page features the only views we have related to USS Shada (SP-580).
