USS Squalus (SS-192) -- Construction, 1937-39

USS Squalus' keel was laid at the Portsmouth Navy Yard, Kittery, Maine, on 18 October 1937. She was launched on 14 September 1938 and, after fitting out, was commissioned on 1 March 1939.
