USS Stockton (Torpedo Boat # 32), 1901-1916

USS Stockton, a 200-ton Blakely class torpedo boat built at Richmond, Virginia, was commissioned in March 1901. She operated along the U.S. East Coast and in the Caribbean area between 1901 and early 1903, then was placed in reserve at the Norfolk Navy Yard for more than three years. Recommissioned in June 1906, she resumed her East Coast service. This lasted until November 1909, after which she was generally inactive at Charleston, South Carolina. Formally decommissioned there in November 1913, USS Stockton was stricken from the Navy list at that time. She was expended as a target in September 1916.

USS Stockton was named in honor of Captain Robert F. Stockton (1795-1866), an important figure in the 19th Century Navy and in contemporary politics.

This page features all the views we have concerning USS Stockton (Torpedo Boat # 32).
