USS Yucca (1865-1868)

USS Yucca, a 373-ton (burden) screw steamer, was built at Boston, Massachusetts, in 1864. The Navy purchased her in late February 1865 and placed her in commission in early April. She participated in post-Civil War operations in the Gulf of Mexico during the next three years. Sold in August 1868, she finished the decade as the civilian vessel Yucca and in 1870 began working under Mexican flag with the name Union.

This page features our only view of USS Yucca (1865-1868).
