Jen Phang
Post-Production Intern
Jennifer Thuy Lan Phang is currently a Post-Production Intern for the -ISM (n.) Project. She is 20 years old for now but eagerly anticipates her 21st birthday in October when she'll be able to legally do all the healthy things "adults" get to do. During her years at Pomona College, CA, she majored in Media Studies with a Film/Video emphasis. As a direct result of her major she made the Pitzer College editing suites her home, and the 24 hour Drive Thru at Taco Bell her kitchen. Jennifer, usually known as Jen, intends to write, produce, and direct independent narrative films, many of which will revolve around Asian-American issues since she's often recognized as "Asian." For her senior thesis at Pomona College she wrote, directed, and produced a 45 minute narrative, Chrex & Alis, that addressed issues of gender, race and class. In her off hours, Jen watches many a movie, reads, writes letters, works on her latest attempt at a screenplay, tries to jog, thinks terribly deep thoughts, and occasionally does the cafe thing. She loves swimming, nature, and views of big cities, but hasn't had the time or place for these things lately. Jen plans to attend graduate film school in the Fall of 1997. But first Jen needs to get accepted by a film school.

Jen can be reached at jphang@pomona.edu.
