The reason why, Lloyd, is that even people who use refractometers and
throw around BRIX readings, are not absolutely certain that there is
real meaning in the numbers. That's the biggest issue, I think. We
all understand that wine grapes are worth more if they have more
sugar, but we cannot be as easily convinced that high brix tells us
more than that.
I am not challenging the BRIX theories. I have a refractometer and am
just getting used to using it.
