Hendrikus Schraven MODIFIES the Growing Solutions machine in order to get good numbers.

As all of you who read this list serve for more than a couple months know, the Growing Solutions machine can be modified to achieve adequate aeration. And therefore decent biology, if good compost and a good set of starting materials are added into the tea maker.

But manufacturers should make machines that do what they claim.

For buyers of a machine to have to modify a machine, so the machine does what the machine is supposed to do, is not right.

What about people who don't know that they have to modify the machine? I run across machines shoved into corners, not being used, as I travel around the country. These people say bad things about compost tea. Can you blame them? OK, they should have been more diligent before buying a machine.

I cannot be supportive of any machine that purports to make actively aerated compost tea, but does not indeed make aerated compost tea.

If the buyer has to modify something in order to get what is promised, I think there's something wrong.

Has Hendrikus spoken to Growing Solutions about the problem? Yes. And Growing Solutions supposedly did something, but they have no data to show, if they did anything, that they fixed the problem.

Oh yeah, data.

Whenever any company that has been delinquent in showing data wants to document decent fungal numbers, decent protozoan numbers, decent oxygen levels in their tea, then I'll accept and be supportive of their machine. Simple as that.

I have never asked for anything more from anyone. I put my trust in good data. I don't believe promises.
