ok, i have read this post too many times. Its 4" in 6
weeks and up to 4' in 6 months. According to Elaine
referencing Harry Hotink at Ohio state univeristy I
believe. And, if the compost you have put on is good
high quality full foodweb containing compost doesnt do
the trick, maybe you have forgotten the cardinal rule
of balancing the soil. You have to have your Ca to Mg
levels fixed first then go after the biology to
maintain and build good soil structure.How does the
biology get in between the clay and humus colloids to
form that structure if it hasnt been floculated with
Calcium to the right levels? And as to the previous
post on different soil types, Sand is the easiest to
fix because it has a lower CEC or ability to hold
minerals.RayG
