You add sulfur in the form of the biology. The proteins in bacteria, fungi, protozoa, nematodes, and organic matter.

In rare instances, maybe addition of a low concentration of sulfur (no more than, hum, 1 pound per acre as I recall) in combination with carbon to feed the fungi harmed by the sulfur.
