I have a female dog as does my neighbor, and both dogs think my lovely
front turf stand is the BEST place to pee. I have no brown spots at
all.
Now, though I do not routinely use tea, I do top dress my lawn each
autumn with compost/castings, I grasscycle religiously (I use a reel
mower), and I use no pesticides or high nutrient synthetic fertilizers.
One might assume I have a pretty fair biological party going on in my
front yard, which could explain the lack of damage my small turf area
takes from two leaking dogs. I tend to lean toward this as the
mitigating factor, though I have no data to back up that belief.

Subject: [compost_tea] Re: Salt and Urine
I have a client who treated a lawn with urine spots from a female dog.
It appears the males don't stain.
Maybe male dogs drink more water and their pee is therefore more diluted
:-)
No brown spots on my lawn from my female dog. She drinks a lot -
particularly from the trays under my pot plants along my verandah. Why
do dogs juust love this stuff? Maybe because it tastes a bit like
compost tea because I have lots of vermicast in the potting mix?
