My thoughts on the issue, based on my experience with my company:
1.these junk email that seem to come from  soilfoodweb are part
of a virus that expands into an email address book then is proliferated
many, many times.  Nothing you can do to prevent these emails from
coming in - if you have an anti-virus program you will not be infected.
Elaine, your machine may be infected so please check it.

      2. Yahoo sells their lists so going to them to alleviate junk
emails will probably not get you very far

      3. email spammers constantly monitor all yahoo lists and harvest
the names.  Again, Yahoo will do nothing about that.  There are more
secure options for message lists, but I am not familiar with where they
are hosted.

      4.  Some ISPs will have a "junk mail" option that you can have
installed to at least put these all into a bucket where you can look at
them or not.  But that does not isolate those that you have on your
approved list if they get a virus.

Just an fyi - we have an ant-spam blocker thru our IT dept. but I also
manage a couple of mailboxes that do not have the anti-spam blocker.  I
receive about 200 spam emails in those boxes daily.  These folks change
ISPs and addresses so fast that noone can find them - but the internet
providers are searching for solutions.  Until then......

Linda

It appears that some addresses on this list have either been harvested
and spoofed (which NEEDS to be reported to Yahoo [Jeff, I think you, as
moderator, might have to do this for the list?]), or actually, I'm
wondering too, it could be a certain prior disgruntled listmember coming
in with a new name/s to cause (more) havoc... ??

I'll see if I can find the url to report such garbage, and get in touch
with you (Jeff) off list.
