Do some research and think about what you are doing when you brew tea. Ask=
yourself a lot of questions concerning what you want compost tea to do for=
you then do some research and see if tea is the right vehicle to get you t=
he results you want.
If you figure that tea is the way to go, look at existing recipes and metho=
ds to get into the tea what you want. Do some research on compost and rese=
arch your inputs.
As it stands right now, tea is not a one-size-fits-all solution. There are=
types of brewing that have a more universal use -- say adding bacteria to =
soil or adding a diversity of bacteria to low diversity soil -- but there a=
re others such as extraction and distribution of fungi that have more speci=
fic applications.
Remember, you can get nothing in tea that is not in your compost. If you s=
tart adding all kinds of plant extracts, you are not making compost tea but=
plant extract tea. Before you use a product or an input, make sure it com=
ports with what you want to do. There are a lot of products with extravaga=
nt claims. People that brew tea make some pretty far out claims sometimes =
so take it all with a grain of salt.
Just putting tea in water and adding aeration may be enough to get bacteria=
into your lawn that can kick-start the critters that live there but are as=
leep from lack of nutrients. Try to keep the whole mess as simple as possi=
ble because then if things change, you will be able to track the changes be=
tter.

Subject: [compost_tea] Tea additives, Tea Power
Has anybody used a additive called Tea Power Catalyst. If you have
what is in it and how does it work. I think it is $25 a gallon and a
gallon would do 250 gallons of tea.
