,.,.,,<><><><><><I may not have an Abbe and I sure don't know how to
use condenser. . I ordered your scope book yesterday but it hasn't
arrived yet.<grin> Is a cover slip required?     Dennis

to species at this magnification, but you can tell you are looking at
bacteria.

at 100X? I don't know what they look like at that power. In soil
biology primer on page 18,fig 1 is a picture at an unknown
magnification. In another book I use, 800X is used to view S. lactis
and 1000X to view yeast cells so I am used to that view. Gotta know
what I'm lookin' for. At coors we Id'd (prelims anyway)beer spoilers
and I forget the magnification we used.  Could call them up I guess,
for a refresher esp since I trained them and Golden is a nice trip
from KS. I keep trying to get out of the la-bore-atory and into the
field. It's beginning to look like an impossible leap. Dennis Kemnitz

Of course, most folks in microbiology departments at CSIRO, or the
USDA have never looked at a living bacterium, so they have no clue.
I think I've only met two molecular biologists, out of the hundreds I
have met, who would would be able to tell the difference between a
bacterium and a flagellate.

flagellate on page 4 of primer help the differentiaton using 100X?
