John,

I have no knowledge if B. subtilis is adequatly present in earth worm
castings.  I'm not sure how different bacillus get selected.
However, if one is to believe the information on the www then
statements such as "a spore-forming bacterium that colonizes the
developing root system of young plants. The bacterium thus competes
with and thereby suppresses disease organisms such as Fusarium,
Rhizoctonia, Alternaria, and Aspergillus that attack root systems. As
a result of this biological protection, the plant may establish a
more vigorous root system" catches my attention.  I would also guess
that not all (or even most) bacteria are known for what they can
contribute to better higher plant growth.  It seems logical that
those that are known might be added to 'tip the scales' towards
better plant health.  I'm just asking if any of you has knowledge or
experience in this area.

Sincerely,
Louis
