Hey Kirk and others,

You might be making a mistake by narrowing your focus too much.

While it certainly is possible that it is compost critters that would
attack a disease, I would think that the best place to look would be
at chemicals (naturally occuring, not monsanto)  that might be in the
compost or the tea additives.

Titel might be using some sort of plant in his compost that Ted does
not have access to. That plant might release an unknown toxin for the
disease, or it might be processed into a toxin by one of the critters
but the critters cannot create the toxin without that chemical
present.

It just seems to me that most of the critters in compost are pretty
ubiquitous, but the chemical inputs vary greatly from location to
location.
