Hi Pierre -

That color isn't right. It should be darker. How much compost, was it good
mature compost with decent humic acid concentration, which is the result of
both bacterial AND fungal decomposition?

Even though you may think aeration is adequate, if you don't test to make
sure by using an oxygen probe, or by assessing the biology (true filamentous
fungi are almost strictly aerobes, flagellates and amoebae are no able to tolerate
anaerobic conditiosn to speak of), you may think things are fine, but they
aren't. Bacetria can grow so fast, on foods you add to the tea, that the tea
will go anaerobic even if you are bubbling well. Ask Bob Norson to share his
experience with that!
