Water just doesn't compress all that well. A gallon of pure H2O at
20,000 ft would take up just about the same amount of space at sea
level

The pressure difference only really has an effect on the gasses
contained in the water, and the temperature required for water to boil
at that pressure.

While those gasses might prove to generate energy as they are drawn to
the surface, if done on a large scale, you could conceivably be
releasing more greenhouse gasses than burning petroleum for the same
amount of energy.

The deep ocean is the greatest active carbon sink we have. The great
gas holding capability of the pressurized water is able to hold huge
amounts of CO2. Bringing it to the surface would release it into the
atmosphere.

I don't know the actual numbers, for the amount of CO2, I am just
going off of one of the suggestions for carbon sequestration that
seems to be the opposite of your plan. To pump surface C02 into the
deep waters.
