Kirk -

For clarity, cold composting is un-related
to traditional Luebke compost.

Secondly, there is no "question" that Luekbe
compost meets EPA Standards.

It is a windrow system with in-depth understanding
and attention to the thermophilic stage, the
breakdown and buildup phases, the temperature
curve, the pH curve, the microbial functions, and
related composting processes.

Kirk, where and why do you repeat a mis-statement
as critical as this... regarding EPA standardss
for time and temperature to reduce pathogens?

It is careless reading and reporting on your part.

The thread has been very clearly laid out in
a sequence in this discussion.

Secondly, Kirk, why did you make an un-founded
and inaccurate remark that "Luebke compost focuses
on CO2 rather than temperature tracking"?!?

This, again, is totally inaccurate, a
mis-statement.

All you have to do is read the posts on this list
and understand what is clearly stated, or
read my paper that was listed as a resource.

If a home composter understands how to make
Luebke compost, then let us give them the
freedom to do so.  It is assumed they would
know it takes a certain volume and certain
management to achieve the goal of humified
compost.

In Europe, where this method is more common,
there are lady gardeners who tell their
husbands "hands off" the compost pile.

If it is going to be done right, the lady
gardeners would rather do it themselves.

After all, who is raising the organic carrots
and feeding the children vegetable juice?
