 I personally would not trust anything that Waste Management does to be
safe for the natural environment.   Wooing the ignorant public in south
Louisiana, Waste Management advertised that their landfills were
environmentally safe...like golf courses.  Anyone who knows anything
about this issue, knows that golf courses are like toxic waste sites.

Water Environment Federation is a major player in this issue.

Incinerators are not a good source of disposal of sewage sludge as they
release the various pollutants into all environmental pathways.  In
addition,
they create more noxious dioxins and furans, which are emitted into the
air, soils, and food chain via enriched particulates of ash residue.

All landfills are proven to leak, even Waste Management's landfills.
So, where do the poor waste companies and those in the sewage treatment
business dispose of this waste, when the problem is there is no safe
place for the toxic substances, which are in our wastes.  Commercial and
residential agriculture has become a dumping ground.  Toxic fertilizers,
poisonous herbicides, insecticides, and fungicides that are spray/spread
on grass and gardens will ultimately end up in the compost, in the
ground and surface waters and the food chain.

To make matters worse, sewage sludge (a.k.a. biosolids) contain
everything industries and households dump down the drain.   The Part
503 rule creates incentives for ''beneficial use'' of sewage
sludge/biosolids.  The problem is of whose use is this beneficial?
Waste Management and   Water Environment Federation, to name of few.  Is
it beneficial that e-coli, salmonella and other bacteria are in many
foods that may be grown with sewage sludge?   To remedy this problem,
EPA is now planning on irradiating agricultural crops with radiolytic
products & free radical toxins and some members of Congress want to
label this process, cold or  pasteurization so as not to alarm the
public...that is, keep the public controlled and ignorant in order that
they keep purchasing the tainted products.

In my opinion, American agriculture is the latest disposal site for
poisons that nobody wants and vested interests and households  make.  An
alternative is composting toilets, consuming non-toxic household and
consumer products, and holding vested interests accountable.  But that
will never happen with industrial puppets in Congress, the USDA, EPA and
the White House ...regardless of the poliltical party.

BTW, some countries, such as New Zealand, are composting their garbage
and sewage sludge.  But based on what I observed while visiting, their
garbage and sludge is less toxic than what is produced in this country.
New Zealand is a country that cares more for their natural environment
and public health than corporate profits.  This is not true of the
United States, which creates more toxic wastes than any other country
in the world and dumps on other countries using trade laws.

In my opinion, this is definitely sludge disposal.  Separated, it could
be nutrient recycling, but not when it's mixed together which is the
only way it can be with profit-motivated multi-nationals in the waste
business.
