We have 3 different rainwater tanks, 1 plastic, 1 galvinised metal & 1
cement
the cement tank definitely has the best quality water
Rain water is generally acidic which will leach copper from copper water
pipes and aluminium from metal pipes. The lime in the cement helps
neutralise the water.
A study conducted by our local University on rainwater tank quality found
the best quality water came from a colourbond gal-iron roof stored in
cement water tanks.
