>From dawn until noon on Saturday I birded Clingman's Dome Road in the GreatSmoky Mountains National Park. The warbler numbers were truly incredible.
I would estimate one almost pure Tennessee Warbler flock at over 1000
individuals. Also of interest was an early Lincoln's Sparrow and 20+
Black-capped Chickadees along this road. During the afternoon I birded theParkway from GSMNP to Asheville. Of note was a 100+ flock of Tenneesee
Warblers near Richland Balsam. For the weekend a total of 19 warbler
species were seen.
