Hi all,
I stopped by the Butner Gamelands (Durham/Granville Counties,
NC), AKA Brickhouse Road, AKA the Sparrow Fields, for a couple
of hours this morning. I had a pretty good variety of sparrows
(WHITE-THROATED, SONG, FIELD, SWAMP, and WHITE-
CROWNED SPARROWS, EASTERN TOWHEE) and a very close
look at a SHARP-SHINNED HAWK flying overhead into a
headwind. Strangely enough, Yellow-rumped Warblers were
entirely absent, and I only saw a couple of Ruby-crowned Kinglets.
Good birding,
-Sandy
