Hello carolinabirds,
Drove by the wetland area near Raleigh Blvd and Crabtree Blvd today
around 4pm and saw another Bald Eagle. This was a notably younger
bird, and had more brown feathers interspersed on his head than the
one we saw on Nov 24th at the same location. It was perched upon the
one of the old heron's nest today. It's unfortunate that this area is
not protected more. A sewage line runs through the area and a road was
cut through several years back now. As a result of the traffic, there
is a constant flow of garbage into the wetlands area. Also saw a Great
Blue Heron and a Great Egret there this afternoon.
